A Single Cell

02 Jun

"Living and Breathing"

A single cell moving from one space to another
A moment of awakening, a day of removal.
It must have sensed a friction
That emotional tie it binds
Will be removed and never seen.

A momentum of machines
Everything gone.
An hour or so to encounter
Every hope disappears
With a regret to succumb for a lifetime.

An expectant soul, speculating the outside world
Hopeful of another day.
But dreams come to an end
To end a souls growing beginning
A beginning to live.

Then a wave of dismissal
Utters a sigh of relief
A prayer answered, even before it was spoken
A predetermined decision
To pass on for generations.

A single cell moving from one space to another
Clinging to a tie that binds
Together mother and child
The moment of awakening, to the day of removal
Ready for the beginning of Life.

words…my heart.. my poem

a life’s desire to fulfill

my mind..soul, entwined.

I love how the progress of the cell traveled through the words ending with a connection, well written.

Beautiful poem, I can’t help but look at my daughter and smile. She really is the only miracle I’ve ever created.

You’ve done a remarkable job of accentuating a lovely and powerful moment in a mother’s life through the journey of awakened soul she carries inside. Indeed a bond like no other.

I once got into an argument with someone who told me that there was no such thing as miracles. I told him, “What aboutt he creation of life?” He still said it didn’t count, but I think you’ve capture well here why it does. I’ve always wanted to have children, but, sadly, it has not happened.

thank you very much for your comment.

Even if you have don’t have that gift of bearing children, God could have given you a different gift, just similar to being a mother. At some point of your life, maybe you have that instinct of nurturing and caring – – acts of being a mother. That counts as a gift too.
Not all women bearing child are good nurturer of children…

I see mother and child on a journey
A journey that was to be
    A decision to continue life
And not to let it end.

    Thank you
